How much does the 52-week challenge save?
Adding $1 through $52 gives 52 × 53 ÷ 2 = $1,378, before interest or fees. Weeks 1 to 13 total $91; weeks 14 to 26 add $260; weeks 27 to 39 add $429; weeks 40 to 52 add $598. These are planned deposits. Printing a schedule does not mean that money has been saved.
Choose a normal, reverse or equal weekly plan
Start small uses increasing deposits. Start large reverses the same amounts, so the total stays unchanged. Keep it even divides the amount left to save across 52 weeks. For the standard $1,378 goal, an even plan is $26.50 each week. Compare the largest week with your bills before choosing a pattern.
Make a $1,000 or $5,000 savings challenge
Enter your target and any money already set aside for that same goal. A $1,000 goal with nothing set aside can use 48 deposits of $19.23 and 4 of $19.24. A $5,000 goal can use 32 deposits of $96.15 and 20 of $96.16. These equal plans total exactly $1,000 and $5,000. Custom targets change the classic $1 increments.
Print a checklist you can keep
Choose Print or save PDF, then select your printer or your browser's PDF destination. The printed sheet includes all 52 weeks, deposit amounts and empty boxes. Tick a box only after setting that amount aside. CSV contains the current plan and cumulative planned deposits, not a record of payments.
Use a plan that fits the household
Check the timing of income and bills before committing to deposits. If a week is too expensive, lower the goal, extend your timeline outside this 52-week sheet or pause and revise the plan. Couples can agree how to share each deposit, but this calculator does not assign either person an obligation or move money.
How the calculator handles cents
The calculator subtracts money already set aside from your goal, with a minimum remaining amount of zero. It allocates that remainder in the selected currency's smallest unit. Equal plans put extra units at the end. Increasing plans use weights 1 through 52, round down, then add leftover units to the final weeks. Reverse plans reverse that list. Every deposit adds to the exact remaining amount.
Frequently asked questions
How much money do you save with the 52-week challenge?
The classic $1, $2, $3 through $52 plan totals $1,378 if you make every deposit. It excludes interest and fees.
What is the reverse 52-week savings challenge?
Save $52 in the first week, $51 in the second and work down to $1. The total is still $1,378. Select Start large for this plan.
Can I save $5,000 in 52 weeks?
The arithmetic requires an average of about $96.15 per week. An exact equal plan uses 32 deposits of $96.15 and 20 of $96.16. Whether that fits depends on your income, bills and other commitments.
Is the 52-week savings challenge printable free?
Yes. Print the checklist or save it as a PDF through your browser. No email, account or payment is required. You may share a printed sheet in a blog, class or workshop.
Can I start the challenge at any time?
Yes. Week 1 can be the week you begin. There are 364 days in 52 weeks, so this is not a calendar-year or date-specific schedule.
Does the calculator track savings or include interest?
No. It creates planned deposits only. It does not connect to a bank, verify payments or calculate interest, fees or investment returns.
Are my inputs saved or sent anywhere?
No. Inputs stay in this page's memory. They are not sent to Oaktally, placed in the URL or stored in your browser. Print or download before refreshing. Currency changes do not convert money.
