About Oaktally

Money together. Room for your own.

A shared plan should make the next decision easier, whether you combine accounts or keep them separate.

Built by Fabio

I build Oaktally for people who want to agree on shared bills, save for a goal, and keep money of their own. I write the budgeting guides and maintain the website. My role here is product builder, not your financial adviser.

What you can use today

The budget worksheet and rent split calculator are free to use now. The mobile app is in development. Joining early access signs you up for updates; it does not create an app account.

How the examples work

The people and amounts in our illustrations are fictional. A monthly budget subtracts assigned bills, savings and personal spending from take-home income. An income-based split multiplies the shared cost by each person's share of combined take-home income. We calculate money at the selected currency's precision and assign any rounding remainder so the shares add up to the bill. These examples do not predict bank balances, interest, tax or investment returns.

How we prepare the guides

Guides explain practical options, their assumptions and their limits. Sources are linked where we use outside guidance. Our worked examples show the arithmetic so you can check it. An equal split or income-based split is an option to discuss, not a rule about what either partner owes. We update a guide's date when its content changes, not to make an unchanged page look new.
